Cleanings, Restorations, and More

Tooth Whitening
Restoring your smile to its natural luster. People with most types of discoloration can achieve lighter teeth from either in office whitening or our at home whitening. The type of stain you have will affect how much whitening you will experience.

Veneers
Veneers can help improve the appearance of front teeth that have permanent stains or discoloration and are unable to be whitened, small gaps between the front teeth, chipped, worn or eroded teeth, or to fix poorly shaped or slightly crooked teeth.

White Fillings
These are fillings that are designed to match the color of your teeth. After the decayed portion of the tooth is removed, the dentist places a tooth-colored composite material onto the prepared surface that is then cured with a special light and polished.

Sealants
Thorough brushing & flossing help remove food particles and plaque from smooth surfaces of teeth. Pits & fissures, however, are places that are extremely difficult to clean. Most cavities form in these pits and fissure areas, and permanent molars are extremely susceptible to this form of decay. Sealants protect these vulnerable areas by “sealing out” plaque and food.

Sealants are easy to apply and it takes only a few minutes to seal each tooth. The teeth to be sealed are cleaned, conditioned and then painted with the sealants. Sealants hold up well under the force of normal chewing and will be checked during regular dental visits.

Restorative Dentistry
Restorative dentistry is the process of covering up or capping a tooth, strengthening or improving its appearance. Crowns are placed for a number reasons:
  • Not enough tooth remaining to support a filling
  • Attach a bridge
  • Protect weak teeth from fracturing
  • Restore fractured teeth
  • Cover badly shaped or discolored teeth
  • Cover a dental implant

Preventative Dentistry
These things done every day can help you have a beautiful & healthy smile.
  • Brush your teeth thoroughly twice or more a day
  • Clean between your teeth using floss once a day
  • Visit your dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings
  • Eat a well-balanced diet

Periodontal Dentistry
Even if you brush and floss every day, you may not completely remove plaque, especially around the gum line. This can create toxins which irritate the gums and bone and the bacteria can cause periodontal disease.

If you notice any of the following signs, see your dentist immediately:
  • Gums that bleed easily. Red, swollen or tender gums.
  • Gums that have pulled away from the teeth.
  • Pus between the teeth and gums when the gums are pressed.
  • Any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.
  • Any changes in the fit of partial dentures.
  • Persistent bad breath or bad taste.
  • Permanent teeth that are loose or separating.

If your dentist determines you have a periodontal disease he will prescribe appropriate treatment or refer you to a periodontist.
Endodontic Dentistry
A root canal is usually necessary when the nerve is damaged or diseased. This damage can come from bacteria from a cavity, gum disease, infection or injury.

A root canal is done through a small opening in the crown of the tooth and the pulp chamber and root canals are cleaned out. Once the tooth is cleaned, the tooth is medicated and temporarily sealed.

The dentist will determine if the tooth will need a crown or filling.
Oral Surgery
Oral surgery is the extraction of a tooth. Having a tooth pulled doesn't have to be traumatic. An anesthetic is used to numb the area.

Dental Implant Restorations
The fear of losing our teeth is something many of us experience. Dental implant restorations are the permanent way for you to replace your missing teeth. Dental implant restorations can provide a permanent and esthetically pleasing alternative to bridgework or dentures. For some people, dental implant restorations offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. Surgically placed below the gums, implants fuse to the jawbone and serve as a base for individual replacement teeth, bridges, or a denture.
